How to crochet vintage coasters, step by step

Vintage Flower crochet coasters

A while back, I posted a pattern for these old, Vintage Flower crochet coasters, but only in Norwegian. Now I have made a little tutorial, and this time I would like to share it with my dear English readers, as well ♥♥♥

You'll need:

♥ Yarn: I've used DK yarn. Mandarin Naturell, Sandnes garn
♥ Hook: 3,5 mm (or the size your yarn requires)
♥ Sissors

♥ Needle

Abbreviations:

st=stitch

ch=chain

ss=slip stitch

sc=single crochet

dc=double crochet

ch-sp=chain space

rnd(s)=round(s)

Important information:

The first dc is replaced by ch3 or a Faux double crochet.
At the end of the round, ss in the 3rd ch, if you replaced the 1st dc with ch3.

Work a magic circle

20 dc around the circle om ringen, finish with 1 ss in 1st dc
1 dc, ch2, *1 dc in next 2 dc, ch2* repeat from *-* around, finish with 1 dc in the last dc, 1 ss in 1st dc
= 10 ch2-sp
1 ss around 1st ch2-sp, (1 dc, ch1, 2 dc) around 1st ch2-sp, *(2 dc, ch1, 2 dc) around next ch2-sp* repeat from *-* around, finish with 1 dc around 1st ch2-sp, 1 ss in 1st dc.
1 ss around 1st ch-sp, 7 dc around 1st ch-sp, 1 sc in between the last dc in a ch2-sp and the first dc in the next ch2-sp on rnd 3, *7 dc around 1st ch-sp, 1 sc in between the last dc in a ch2-sp and the first dc in the next ch2-sp on rnd 3* repeat from *-* around, finish with 1 ss in 1st dc.

Cut yarn and weave in ends

You may also finish with an invisible join, if you like.

Once you have worked the last sc on rnd 4, pull up the loop and remove the hook.
Insert the hook through the 1st dc (3rd ch), back to forth
Pick up the loop, and draw through the stitch
Cut yarn and draw it all the way through. Make sure to make the tail long enough to weave in.
Thread the yarn on a needle, and insert the needle in the middle of your last stitch.
Pull tight, until the join between the first and the last stitch is as good as invisible, and weave in.
